By choosing an ENERGY STAR certified heating equipment and taking steps to optimize its performance, you can enhance the comfort of your home while saving energy. ENERGY STAR certified boilers have annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) ratings of 90% or greater for gas boilers. AFUE is the measure of heating equipment efficiency. ENERGY STAR certified boilers can be up to 12% more efficient than models that simply meet the federal minimum standard for energy efficiency. The highly efficient EFT Combi surpasses many boilers with a 95% efficiency rating.
